Carolina Bassers
Lake Gaston Tournament October 17, 2004

TOURNEY RUNDOWN
The second day of tournament weekend dawned clear and colder.  A crisp October morning turned yet again into clear blue skies and another blast of strong winds throughout the day really made the bass hunker down tight.  Ron “ I’ve got my limit ” Johnson topped the field in First Place with another nice sack of 5 fish weighing 9.19 lbs. Ron teased them again with a Senko.  Second Place went to Roy Price with 3 fish weighing 7.14 lbs. Roy enticed his fish with a Zoom Lizard.  A strong Third Place was awarded to Jerry Everly with 3 fish weighing 5.67 lbs.  Jerry serenaded his fish with good tunes and a spinnerbait in an encore performance.  Fourth Place and Big Bass award was earned by Steve Jones with 1 hog of the day weighing 5.56 lbs.  Steve gently finessed his fish with a Junebug Finesse Worm.  Finally, Fifth Place went to strong finisher Brian Adams with 3 fish weighing 4.92 lbs.  Brian snared his fish with a creature bait.

The youth again did battle with Gaston, but not without casualties.  “Rising Pro”  Nick Bell fell from hero to zero lending Top Honors to “Twin T” (Tyler Teer) with a nice sack of four fish weighing 5.41 lbs.  Tyler used his trusty Rattletrap to win.  “Little David” Blanton arose as a contender with 2 fish weighing 3.35 lbs for a strong Second Place and also Big Bass award for the youth.  Little D snagged his fish with a Senko and spinnerbait combo.  “Big B” Brandon Parker scored one fish weighing 2.02 lbs for Third Place.  Brandon used a spinnerbait as his choice.  Fourth Place was garnered by young Jaden Hurr with one fish “bigger than Dad’s” weighing 1.68 lbs. Jadyn used a spinnerbait also.  Finally, Fifth Place went to “Young Tiger” Joey Gwynn with one almost adult bass weighing .69 lbs.  Joey again tricked them with a spinnerbait.

As day two of the final tournament weekend ends, thanks should be given for all the support and hard work by a great team of Club Officers and Tournament Committee members.  I personally would like to thank the “Best Dang Tournament Director in the South” Steve Campbell for his dedication and many “only two hours of sleep” nights in running our tournaments this year. Great Job, Steve!!!  Another outstanding season has come to an end so don’t forget to attend the Year–End Banquet at Ron’s Barn on 20 November.  See you all there!!
