Carolina Bassers
Cape Fear Tournament August 27, 2005

Tourney Rundown
33 anglers battled the “Dog Days of Summer” in hopes of catching that elusive huge sack of summertime bass.  This being the 9th tournament of season, anglers know every fish is vital to earning a coveted spot on one of the two 6 man teams for next year.

Ricky “The Loaner” Mozingo snuck away from the crowds up the Haw River and made a left to swing for the fences and fish the chocolate milk of the Deep River.  This proved to pay big dividends as he weighed only 2 bass…..  But those 2 bass weighed an impressive 10.15 lbs, earning him top honors as well as the “Big Bass” money with a toad weighing in at 6.70 lbs.
Scott Assman finished 2nd with the clubs only limit weighing in 8.19 lbs, showing he had the right area and bait i.e., “pattern” figured out, but the infamous “kicker fish” eluded him.

Jadyn Hurr ran away from the field of youth anglers battling the heat and wasps, weighing an impressive catch of 4 fish weighing 5.04 lbs.  Adding insult to injury he also took “Big Bass” with a 1.93 lb chunk.  Timmy Baker finished runner-up with 2 fish weighing 2.11 lbs.
