Carolina Bassers
Mayo Lake Tournament July 30, 2005

Tourney Rundown
John the "Road Warrior" Barrett drove all the way back from Lake Erie to show the club just how a pro would fish a new body of water.  John had never been on the lake before and weighed the biggest sack so far this year.  His 19.11 lb catch (18.97 after dead fish penalty), outdistanced his nearest competitor Roger Baylous by over 7 lbs!  John reportedly caught his fish schooling suspended over deep water.  Mayo surrendered its fair share of bass with only 6 anglers failing to weigh a fish.  Short fish seemed to be in abundance, as many anglers could attest.  The Eastern Chain Pickerel aka "Jack" was also stretching lines to the frustration of many anglers.

Garett "Big Fish" Rhodes bested his fellow youth competitors taking top spot and his second consecutive big fish honors in as many tournaments.

Weather Conditions

Overcast/mild with light rain at times - Air temps ranged from a morning low of 70s in the morning to a high in the mid to upper 80s by weigh-in.
Winds – Calm to slight breeze at times

Water temp - Averaged 82-86 degrees, depending on time and location.
