Tourney Rundown
The Carolina Bassers fished their 2nd Tourney of the season at yet another local known “Hawg Factory” named Falls Lake near Raleigh.  Conditions were less than favorable for anglers with chilly temps and frontal conditions facing them.  The lake had given up some impressive sacks in prior tournaments held there this month.  The lake proved to be somewhat stingy, as only 1 angler managed to catch a limit of 5 fish of over 16”.  Falls did however give up a fair share of large fish considering the tough weather conditions.

Stephan Badarak, with an impressive and the only 5 fish limit weighing 16.78 lbs, came away with the top prize.  He reported catching his fish on a Carolina Rig, as did some of the other top 5 finishers.  Brad Long, fishing in his first season as a “Carolina Basser”, used the finesse approach to coax his 4 fish weighing 16.54 lbs to come in a close 2nd.  His fish fell for a “Shaky Head” worm.   Kevin “Up the River” Matthews brought in the tourney’s Big Bass weighing 8.95 which fell for a custom made jig.  Kevin finished in 3rd with 2 other solid fish, for a total weight of 15.57 lbs which he reported catching on a Spinnerbait.

The clubs youth also battled the tough conditions.  Nick Bell once again took top spot with 3 fish weighing an impressive 11.51 lbs.  To add insult to injury he also weighed a 6.20 lb “fatty” to run away with the youths “Big Bass” honors.  Proving once again this young man is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years on the adult side!
