Tourney Rundown
44 anglers arrived at Lake Tillery, with hopes of adding valuable points to their totals for the end of the year “Top 12”.  This tourney was also a warm-up for the current regional qualifiers that would fish this lake the following weekend in the southern regional tournament.

Stealing the show was young angler Nick Bell on the youth side weighing in an impressive limit of fish weighing 11.78 lbs!!!  This was the highest weight of any angler competing!!!  Tyler Teer finished runner-up with three fish weighing 6.80 lbs.  Rounding out the top three was Joey Gwyn with two fish weighing 4.47 lbs.

The Killer “B’s” (Blanton’s) finished 1st and 2nd, proving once again, they are the ones to beat on this body of water.  David Blanton took top spot with a weight of 10.98 lbs, despite weighing only 4 fish.  This outweighed his son Nathan Blanton’s 5 fish limit by a little over a pound.  Rounding out the top three was Stephan Badarak, with the tournaments only other 5 fish limit.

Anglers reported a good bite on numerous patterns ranging from sight fishing to post-spawn.  Most fish were caught on a variety of plastics fished numerous ways.  Once again some anglers had issues catching the elusive over 14” fish.  However, this lake does appear to be getting healthier from previous years.

Winds – calm to a slight breeze at times.
Water temp - Averaged 60 - 70  degrees, depending on time and location on lake.
