Tourney Rundown
The Carolina Bassers fished their 2^nd tourney of the season at yet another local known “Hawg Factory” named Falls Lake near Raleigh.  Conditions were much better than last years hail storm, winds and cold temps.  This year we started the day with cool temps, mid 50’s, in the morning progressively getting warmer, mid 80’s, through the day.  The lake had given up some impressive sacks in prior tournaments held there this month.  The lake proved to be somewhat stingy like last year, as only 1 angler managed to catch a limit of 5 fish of over 16”.  Most club members reported catching a few most under slot and there was even talk of some sight fishing going on!

Allen Darden, with an impressive and the only 5 fish limit weighing 14.08 lbs. He came away with the top prize.  He reported catching his fish on a Jig.  Kevin Matthews brought in the tourney’s Big Bass weighing 5.62 lbs which fell for a Spinner bait.  His 2 fish weighed in at 9.71 lbs to come in 2^nd.  Will Blanton reported catching his fish on Senkos, cranks, and Brush Hogs.  Will finished in 3^rd with 3 fish for a total weight of 9.23 lbs. Todd Parker came in 4^th using a Senko.  His three fish bag weighed in at 7.55 lbs.  Adam Spell took 5^th with 2 fish weighing in at 5.81.

Joey Gywn took the top spot with the youth with 1 fish weighing in at 3.29 for 1^st and the youth's “Big Bass” honors.  Joey reported using the old trusty Texas rig.  2^nd place went to Tyler Teer with 1 fish weighing in at 2.05 using a jig.
