WIX , the platform that hosts our website and forum is discontinuing the Forum support and replacing it with Groups. I will begin the migration to Groups, but have no idea how well it will work out. I'll play with it and will cover in our Sept meeting. Wix Forum will be discontinued on March 1, 2026. To ensure your community stays active and connected, you can migrate your forum to Wix Groups. The transition is simple: groups will automatically be created for your forum categories, including posts, comments, and members. After making the move, all you need to do is publish your site, manage your member list, and customize your groups to suit your needs. Make sure to also redirect URLs to keep your SEO intact. Important: • Posting in Wix Forum will be disabled starting October 15, 2025. • Wix Forum will be discontinued on March 1, 2026. After this date, your forum and all its data will be deleted. Migrate your forum data before this deadline to avoid losing your content.

If interested, please reach out directly to Cara Cairns. Youth Fishing Club/Team Inbox Cara Cairns <cairca@gracechristiansanford.com>  Hi there! Wanted to see if you or some of your members might be able to provide me some guidance! I’m working to pull together some adult leadership to support a youth fishing club at Grace Christian School in Sanford. We started a fishing program last year, limited to freshwater shore fishing, primarily at San-Lee Park, Jordan Lake and Deep River. It was a big hit with our 6th-12th graders. We had to cap it at 12, but there was a lot more interest.  Unfortunately, the faculty member who led the program has moved into an Assistant Principal position and doesn’t have the bandwidth to carry the program forward.  We’d also love to grow the program to include more how-to education, boating education, freshwater fishing by water vessel, weekend trips, and tournaments such as the NC Bassmaster HS & Junior Tournament Series.  I’m in seek of an experienced individual to provide some guidance for the program and also some folks to facilitate it. (Paid positions) This could range from recreational shore fishing, to strategic education and practice to prepare kids for a bass tournament.  Do you think your club could be a resource or consult for us? Or possibly have some leaders to support?  Like our Shooting Team, I imagine once we get this thing really going, parents will naturally become involved as boat captains, etc. for tournaments and help with coaching etc. But we don’t really have anyone in our pool who has done what you guys do. We have an interest form anyone can complete:  GCS Fishing Club - Coach & Support Interest Form And/or feel free to just email be back.  Thanks so much for your time! Please review the updated By-Laws (Green highlights) https://www.carolinabassers.com/club-by-laws Two changes were proposed and approved to the 2025 By-Law changes during November 12, 2024 meeting. 1. Update to blast off rule for Trailer Tournaments: Start fishing 45 minutes prior to Sunrise, no blast-off from specific location (i.e. Bojangles). 2. Change to points: If a member fishes, but does not weigh-in any fish, there is only a 1-point deviation from last member that weighed-in fish. As voted during the October 8th meeting, the following By-law changes have been approved: • Allow to cull a dead fish • Return to monthly meetings (Starting February) and move start time to 7pm • Points start first meeting of year (February) • Adopt new pay-out rules based on the number of participants:   - 1-10 Participants - Pay out top 3 places   - 11-15 Participants - Pay out top 4 places   - 16 and above - Pay out top 5 places • Championship location will be pulled from regular season locations • Championship - member must fish in 66% of regular season tournaments to participate in the Championship • Championship - Entry fee = $100 • Championship will be a true 2-day tournament (combined weights) • Championship will recognize 1 big fish payout. • Yearly dues increase to $75 • deleted Trailer Tournament's - Take off from agreed location will be 1 hour before sunrise (Deleted, see above) • Update to the "buy-in" rule such that member can only buy into 1 tournament per year. • Update to "buy-in" rule such that member will receive a maximum deviation of 5 points from last angler to weigh in a fish. Please review for accuracy. The by-laws will be updated for November meeting.
