Bylaw Discussions from Sept Mtg
I don't have EXACT verbiage from the meeting but here are a few of the items I recall that were discussed:
Other items may be added per Nathan Dickens notes......
#1 At the October meeting to discuss 2022 Lake schedule, we will either discuss Bylaw "clean up" or
form a Bylaw Committee to clean up some of the old remarks in the Bylaws. Such as: conservation
codes and public attention, appointment of financial auditors, appointment of individual to attend
NCBFN meetings, etc....etc. A lot of these Bylaw remarks are Outdated and no longer exist.
#2 Do we as a Club remain affiliated to Bass Nation -or- Not?
If the decision is to withdraw from NCBFN as a CLUB, as an individual, you can still pay the NCBFN
Dues and remain a member of NCBFN. As long as you are also a member of BASS you can still
fish as an individual in the NC State events (EAST, WEST & WILDCARD)
#3 As a side note to item #2 above: if we drop NCBFN as a CLUB, do we ADD a Championship type
format to the end of the year? Perhaps just discussion among the Lake Committee to develop a plan
and to present to the Club.
#4 Scoring proposal wording change: currently the remarks to paying an entry fee if unable to attend a
tournament says....... One time during the year tournament schedule, if an individual/individuals are
unable to make a tournament (one or two day), and they pay their entry fee; will be allowed to receive
points based on maximum deviation 15 points from the last angler to weigh in a fish.
Change to: ........maximum deviation 15 points from last angler scoring
#5 Drop this Bylaw entry: Club tournament dates will be changed if they fall on the same date as the
NCBFN State tournament. (assuming we stay in the NCBFN as a Club)
#6 Drop "PAIRINGS" from Article VI, Tournament Rules, Section 1: M..... Verbiage that says: Tournament
Director will pair a non-boater with a boater in the following method...Tournament Director will draw a
boater names until a boater is found to take the unpaired non-boater.
