My 2 Cents worth…..on anything! Mostly things to remember when Bylaw’s are discussed…..

#1. 3 meetings per year, Feb, Sept & Nov

#2. The New year & points start Feb (not Nov)

#3. Several years ago members (who were primarily fishing just with the Bassers), wanted to fish more events. It was proposed and as with each year, voted and accepted. Now more members are fishing with multiple groups and discussions of expenses have developed. So it’s more of an individual thing …..fishing with one club or multiple, reduce the 2 day events or maintain, more local lakes, etc, etc, etc..

#4. Probably need to revamp “payout” based on participation….. 1 place per 5 as an example….

#5. Tournament committee

deleted my entry because no matter how I tried to type it, it sounded like I was throwing rocks ….. so I deleted #5

#6. Probably need to simplify as many items as possible…..top 5, top 6 year end, awards, banquet expenses……etc.

#7. To explain #5 deletions…… there wasn’t anything specific to Tournament Committee, it was more about the process of selection and commitment. It’s a difficult “topic” because we all have commitments, family, and other life issues that get in the way. Speaking solely for myself, I look at the Tournament Committee as the core to the clubs existence. The committee is made up of officers and members that contribute regularly. These are the members that probably receive most of the work load to maintain a healthy club. If this starts to fail, how long before the Bassers are follow? Maybe it’s just me and if so, I’ll stay quite and apologize!

On board with the cost reduction, most are probably in favor of cost reductions as well. Personally I’m going to fish regardless, no guarantees for tomorrow!.

Actually if the Classic is just a One day event combined with a Tournament within Tournament, the chance for higher winnings is larger. What I dislike is a “charge” for the Classic event, I feel like that should have some additional discussion. Maybe just a charge if you want to combine with T within T, ? Not sure….

I would prefer the Classic to be same year as competition….I don’t have a problem with location selection but if we’re doing “cost evaluations”, maybe it should be a local lake only.?

The more discussions are good! Glad you’re thinking about getting back on the water and the Bassers!

Take care!!
