2021 Membership Letter

I received this from Chuck Murray Tuesday.

Memo to: Club Leaders/Membership

Please note that Board and I have been talking about the upcoming season. With Covid still out there, it makes it a challenge. The Western Regional will be on Wylie. We are looking at dates of May 7 and 8 for Wylie. The Eastern Regional is on Lake Gaston and we are looking at the dates of October 22 and 23. For the Wild Card we are looking at June 25th and 26th on the Roanoke River out of Plymouth. All of these dates are not confirmed yet.

New for this year: Top Team from the three events will be invited to the BASS Team Championship at Lake Eufaula on December 10th and 11th 2021 where the top angler will receive the last spot in the 2022 Bassmaster CLASSIC! More to come on qualification method. Read up on this event at https://www.bassmaster.com/news/lake-eufaula-lands-2021-bassmaster-team-championship

A memo was released recently with discounts for certain products. Please make sure you share with your club members. With Covid still a huge presence, we will not hold an annual meeting this year but we do want some feed back from our clubs/members. Please review the questions below, discuss with you clubs and respond by February 15th.

1. Would you rather see one day qualifiers versus two day qualifiers this year. Which would you prefer? (One day or two)

2. If one day event. (Friday or Saturday)

3. We have received feedback on adding Jordan Lake and Falls Lake into the Eastern Rotation. (yes or no)

4. It has been requested to add Badin Lake to the Western Rotation. (yes or no)

With so many tournament trails out there, dates are hard to find. In some cases, it is impossible to miss everything. Anglers are going to have to just decide which events they wish to fish. We have two Classic path opportunities now. No other trail has that opportunity that I know of.

I hate we cannot meet in person, but with Covid out there, we are going to have to operate like this for now. Hopefully next year, Covid will not be an issue. Some of you may know, others may not. but my entire family contracted Covid in just before Thanksgiving. Nineteen of us got it at one time. From my 2 year old grandson to my 81 year old dad. Three individuals had to visit the hospital and Lori's sister's husband did not survive. He was 65 years old and due to retire January 1st, 2021. He passed away on December 11th, 2020, 20 days away from retiring. Lori and I and the rest of the family have fully recovered now including my 81 year old dad. He was very fortunate and did not even have to go to the hospital. Luckily he had a mild case.

I look forward to the 2021 season. Only active clubs that have paid their membership by 2/25 will be used in the survey so if you have not gotten your dues in, don't wait. Thanks for your time and see you on the water soon.
